Supporting Our Online Artist Teachers
At Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, we are committed to shaping Artist Teachers of exceptional ability and, as a result, we are committed to providing them with an level of academic and personal support.
Boston University distance learning programs were created with working professionals in mind. We realize that you will need a great many resources to help manage your career, your home life, and the requirements of your degree. Upon entering the online Art Education program, you will discover the high levels of instruction and support available. For many students, these resources are a vital part of successfully completing their degree program.
BU offers several levels of academic, technical, and administrative support to assist you. You may have already come into contact with your Enrollment Advisor who guides you through the enrollment process. But the support does not end there. Once you begin the program you will find tremendous support from the Course Instructor, Facilitator, Program Manager, Student Support Representative, fellow peers, e-learning Helpdesk support, and other student services.
Each course is set up so you interact with a small group of your peers and with the support and assistance of a professional facilitator. A University faculty member will deliver course instruction and oversee the course as a whole to ensure your overall success in the online Art Education degree program.
Your BU support team includes the following:
- Your Enrollment Advisor is assigned to assist you, answer your questions and guide you through the admissions process
- Your Course Instructor is responsible for the course design and ensuring that your learning needs are being met
- Your Facilitator is your guide for completing course assignments, achieving course learning objectives, participating in chat and interaction sessions, and satisfying your Independent Study requirements
- Your Program Manager is available to aid you with any administrative needs you may have
- Your Advisor answers any academic questions you have
- Your Fellow Peers will be interacting with you regularly in your small learning group
- Your E-Learning Helpdesk Support is available to you should you have any problems with the course technology
- Student Services Coordinators are only a phone call or e-mail away should you ever need assistance
